Zen - German Shepherd Dog

Shelter: BC SPCA - Chilliwack Branch Animal ID: 547674 Birthdate: April 30, 2014 - Senior Spayed/Neutered: No Male Similar to his name, Zen is a sweet, gentle giant in search of a home to live out his retirement years. Zen has been diagnosed with pretty moderate spinal arthritis and will need to be on pain management for life with the possibility of a special joint food diet to support him. Zen doesn't let this stop him from getting excited to see his humans and spend time outside basking in the sunshine. He loves to load up in the car and go for rides. Zen is not so fond of other dogs and can work himself up barking and pulling towards them if he sees them. Due to this, we are looking at placing him in a home with no other animals. Zen came to us as a stray with horrible skin irritation, possibly from the amount of fleas he had. He will need to be on antibiotics to see if it helps his hair grows back, so we would be hopeful to place him in a home that is up for a foster to adopt so he can continue care with our local vet.
